Our company seeks a trustworthy CDL driver to transport material from our supply yards to job sites, homeowners, and vendor distribution centers.

What is Waiting for You?

• Work with supply yard office staff to plan routes and meet delivery schedules
• Collect and verify delivery instructions
• Inspect tickets to ensure material is accurately loaded, without defects and meets client or job site requirements
• Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, verifying client or jobsite drop instructions
• When necessary, engage with homeowners or jobsites in a professional and polite manner to ensure materials are accurately and satisfactorily delivered/un-loaded
• Report any homeowner or site concerns to supply store office staff, report material defects, accidents, or potential hazards
• Navigate various routes in a timely manner to efficiently fulfill daily delivery schedules
• Safely load and unload materials, follow company safety protocols and best practices
• Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and log preventative maintenance items
• Retain fuel/toll receipts along with customer delivery tickets
• Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking, and break periods) as well as with company best practices
• FLAT BED truck driving, dump truck driving, tri-axle truck driving, Moffett experience a plus.

Qualifications

VALID CLASS A OR CLASS B COMMERCIAL LICENSE

• Clean driving record and insurable.

• Strong work ethic, team player, levelheaded, detail oriented, safety conscientious, courteous, punctual, and professional.
• No major violations in the last 3 years.
• CURRENT DOT PHYSICAL EXAMINATION (MEDICAL CARD)
• Experience with driving rollbacks, hooklift truck, hydroseeder, dump truck, lift gates and electric pallet jacks (Moffett) (Preferred – not required) We are willing to train the right individuals!

Pay Range: $20.00 - $24.00/ per hour, (with incentives and ability to grow based on performance) with opportunity to work overtime for all full-time positions. Seasonal overtime is mandatory for full-time positions. Flexible hours and positions for part-time positions. Schedules are made in advance, and we are willing to accommodate part-time flexible schedules. Full-time positions eligible for benefits (subject to standard waiting periods). This position is based out of Harford County, Maryland just over the Baltimore County/Harford County line. The home reporting base is from our Landscape Supply Yard located at 2708 Bel Air Road, Fallston, MD 21047. This CDL Truck Driver position is for local territories and routes and does not require overnight work. This position additionally guarantees minimum full-time hours and does not reduce full-time drivers’ hours or hire temp/seasonal drivers- for all full-time positions. Our supply store is open (7) days per week from 7:00 AM – 5:00 pm, full-time positions can expect to work a schedule of a minimum of five days per week with rotational Saturdays mandatory with a start time of 7:00 AM – to 5:00PM. Part-time positions are flexible, and we are willing to accommodate talented individuals, typically are 1-3 shifts per week from 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM

As an Equipment Operator/Yard Associate, you will play a key role in contributing to the overall success and maintenance of our landscape supply store. The primary focus of this role is to provide new and existing customers, vendors, and crews with timely and professional service for all of their landscape supply needs.

What is Waiting for You?

• Daily responsibilities will include overseeing product deliveries, maintaining stock and inventory levels, routine communications with yard manager and support team members to ensure the supply yard is operating at its highest potential.
• In this role you will operate a front-end loader to load customers, and crew trucks, safely and efficiently to provide smooth satisfactory service to our customers, vendors, and crews
• Stocking, receiving, pulling, and staging all yard/container materials
• Keeping yard area clean, organized, and free from trash or potential hazards
• Keeping equipment clean, free from trash while proactively communicating potential defects or equipment maintenance concerns
• Communicating stock levels or supply yard needs to yard manager and office staff
• Engaging new or existing customers in a professional and polite manner, offering product suggestions, guiding potential customers around the supply yard
• Other standard yard maintenance related duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Previous experience operating equipment such as a forklift, Bobcat, or front-end loader (2 years in a commercial setting preferred)
• Must be able to lift 75-100 pounds
• General workplace safety and compliance knowledge (preferred)
• Dependable, “can-do attitude”, enjoys contributing to a team environment
• Ability to communicate with customers, vendors, and fellow team members clearly and professionally

To thrive as a Sales Customer Experience Specialist, you must be:

Approachable, organized, and genuinely interested in helping our customers. Some basic computer skills are necessary to use our point-of-sale software. An outgoing personality with a positive attitude will help you start up conversations with strangers and being a self-starter will be useful as well so you can jump in and help wherever you see a need. You don’t need to have any previous experience or knowledge in landscape supplies or sales. We’ll teach you everything you need to know, which makes this a perfect starting point to launch your career.

• You’ll be working in our primary store as a sales specialist focusing on professional landscape contractors and their unique needs.
• On your own and working with the store manager and counter sales staff.
• You’ll meet and form relationships with local pros who rely on Lehnhoff's for excellent products and EXCEPTIONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE.
• You will build relationships with our contractor’s clients who may be there for material selection but are more likely there for guidance and advice when making product selections for their project.
• When contractors select us as their preferred supplier, it is imperative that you “roll out the red carpet” by collaborating with them to ensure they get exactly the right products for their project needs.
• You will make ALL of our customers feel like they had a service interaction that exceeded their expectations.

Here’s what we’re looking for from you:

• An outgoing personality - You’ll will support Lehnhoff’s sales operation by engaging new and existing customers, contractors and or distributors. Introduce yourself to any customers whether in person at the store or by phone/ online. Get to know them, their business, and their needs. You’ll maintain this relationship and follow up regarding their jobs and any future needs.
• Collaboration. You’ll work closely with Lehnhoff’s distributors and contractors and take care of our customers when they come into the store, by helping them select products, schedule deliveries, etc. Increase sales through engagement of customers, suggestive selling, and sharing product knowledge. You’ll also work closely with the yard staff. We are all one team, so as a coworker you’ll be professional and helpful, working to maintain this mutually beneficial relationship.
• Basic computer skills. You’ll enter all your new leads and contacts into the point-of-sale system. Document sales by creating or updating customer profile records, processing payments by totaling purchases. Viewing and reporting inventory levels, including receiving and stocking merchandise. Emailing customers purchase orders or sales quotations, keeping them informed of new products of potential interest.
• Bilingual. You are not required to speak a second language, but many of our professional contractors do. If you have this knowledge, that’s definitely a bonus.
