Uses for Natural Stone in your Timonium Garden

natural stone

The only limit for the garden applications of natural stone is your imagination! Here are some of the ways you can utilize natural stone to make your yard look even more marvelous.

As we transition from spring into summer, homeowners are spending more time outdoors. Have you noticed that your yard is missing that special something? If you’re looking for a way to take your garden to the next level, consider incorporating natural stone. Natural stone comes in all shapes, colors, and sizes and can add elements that are rustic, fancy, or natural. The only limit for the garden applications of natural stone is your imagination! Here are some of the ways you can utilize natural stone to make your yard look even more marvelous.

  • Walkways

Natural stone can make many types of fantastic walkways. You can use large flat stones as stepping stones over grass, dirt, water, mulch, or pebbles. Pebble-sized stones can be poured down and used as a walkway on their own. Stone walkways are entirely customizable. You can create a natural stone walkway in any shape, size, or color. Walkways can bring other elements of your garden together, draw the eye to certain features of your garden, and make otherwise slippery terrain less hazardous.

  • Instead of Mulch

Many people have refreshed their mulch this season since it’s a good time for doing so. Depending on your reasons for mulching, pebbles can serve the same purpose as mulch. Stones can keep weeds from sprouting up under trees or in other unplanted areas, and natural stone does not need to be replenished annually.

  • Natural Stone Patio

If you are adding a natural stone feature to your garden, why not go the whole hog? Create a stone patio! Small pebbles can be laid out in mass quantities to create a custom patio for lounging and entertaining. You can even lay down large flat stones with grass seed between them to create a large mosaic with grass “grout!” Your patio can take whatever shape you want, and stone can help you work around tricky or uneven terrain.
